The ensemble included artists from the percussion group of the Mariinsky Theatre.
In 2005, the ensemble became a laureate of the 1st prize of the International Competition of Ensembles named after S.V. Rachmaninov in St. Petersburg.
In 2012, the group again received the first prize at the same competition. Today, the repertoire of Renaissance Percussion includes works from different eras and styles. The priority is the performance of music by Russian and foreign classics in arrangements for melodic percussion instruments created by the ensemble members Vladislav Ivanov and Arseniy Shuplyakov. The ensemble's repertoire also includes works for noise percussion, pop and modern academic music.
